Former AFC Bournemouth winger Jordon Ibe returns to Derby County

English Championship side Derby County have retained the services of right-winger Jordon Ibe ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Ibe agreed to a two-year deal with Derby as a free agent following his departure from AFC Bournemouth.

The 24-year-old joined Liverpool in the summer of 2012 and eventually shipped out on loan to Birmingham City on February 2014 where registered one goal in 11 appearances.

Later in August of the same here he joined Derby County on yet another loan and this time around he made 24 appearances while scoring five goals and providing one assist in the process. 

Ibe will now be involved with the club's strength and conditioning staff to get him back to match fitness following his last competitive game being in September 2019.

The Rams boss Phillip Cocu said on the signing of Ibe: “Jordon is a player with a lot of potential and undoubted ability.

“He has performed for several years in the Premier League and at 24 years of age he still has many years ahead of him in his career.

“We have been keen to strengthen our attacking options out wide for some time, while we believe Derby County is the right place for Jordon at this stage of his career.”
