West Ham United midfield maestro Declan Rice's career is set to experience a change with Chelsea still eager to retain his services.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard spent the summer transfer window beefing up his squad in certain areas but he was short of the important number six, that being Rice who is David Moyes' most valuable asset.
However, the Blues might suffer yet another blow as the Hammers are reportedly set to extend Rice's stay at the club while also doubling his £60,000-a-week wages.
If the 21-year-old signs on the dotted line, all of Chelsea's efforts will go up in smoke unless they decide to splurge excessively to acquire his services.
Amazingly enough the England international came through the academy ranks of Chelsea before he was released at the age of 14 where he joined the Hammers and has been rising steadily in his career.
