Liverpool has received a timely boost with the news that midfielder Thiago Alcantara might be fit for their upcoming clash against Leicester City.
The player has been absent from the team from the past two weeks and according to The Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp admitted that the player was getting closer to full fitness.
The Reds will be up against Leicester City on Sunday, November 22 with the game being the first of 11 before the end of the calendar year; the team expected to miss several first-team players during the busy Christmas period.
Thiago has struggled with injuries since his £25million move to Liverpool in the summer from Bayern Munich and a return to full training at the club's new AXA Training Centre next week could at least put him on the runway.
Apart from Thiago, the club is expected to be without the services of winger Mohammed Salah who tested positive for Covid while on international duty with Egypt.
Salah joins Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez who are expected to be out for a longer period after both underwent surgeries.
