Ralph Hasenhuttl on how Southampton have changed in their style of play

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl will be looking to maintain his side's unbeaten run when they take on Manchester United on Sunday.

The Saints are now seven games unbeaten in the Premier League and Hasenhuttl highlighted some of the changes that have been made in the team's style of play particularly with the possession and counter-pressing.

"Especially our game in possession now shows some habits and some patterns that we haven't shown in the past, and I think this is something that the players really enjoy," Hasenhuttl told the club's official website.

"It's always nice to have the ball and play with the ball, rather than only running and hunting to get it back, so this is maybe the biggest change at the moment in our game, although there we still have massive things to improve.

"But I think we are not only a pressing team anymore. This is the message at the moment, we are also with the ball a team that can cause you some problems."

The Austrian boss also revealed that it was certainly a risk to make some changes to his squad but is grateful to his players who swiftly adapted to the change as well as following his philosophy.

"I was hoping it would go that quick and I'm very happy that it didn't take long because you don't have the time to make a lot of mistakes and still get good results, so it was a risky change of our game," he continued.

"I think at the moment we feel comfortable and this is amazing to see how quickly players are learning what we wanted to see, and it's a never-ending story hopefully that we can get better and better.
