Nairobi City Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by Posta Rangers in an FKF Premier League match staged at Kasarani on Friday evening.
Jackson Dwang gave Rangers the lead just before halftime but Peter Pinchez scored the leveler in the second half. In the stoppage time, Jairus Adira was shown a red card after receiving the second booking of the game for a foul on Okumu.
Posta Rangers took the lead just before half time through Jackson Dwang. Francis Nambute had the ball on the flash before delivering a cross to Dwang who put the ball past Steven Njuge.
In the second half, City Stars drew level through Peter Pinchez, who capitalized on Adira's mistake. A ball was delivered into the box with Ombija Erick headed towards the goal but Adira fumbled with it and it landed on Opiyo who made no mistake from the rebound.
In the stoppage time, Rangers were reduced to ten men after goalkeeper Jairus Adira was shown the second yellow card for a foul on Okumu Rodgers.
Stars are fifth in the league standings with nine points while Rangers are tenth on the log with five.
At Afraha Stadium Ulinzi Stars were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Vihiga United. The hosts had a host of chances but could not break the deadlock against a stubborn Vihiga.
The result means the Soldiers have so far picked a single victory, three draws, and one defeat.
That leaves them ninth on the log with just six points from five matches while Vihiga are 12th, one point behind the Soldiers.
