Wazito FC continued with their fine form in the FKF Premier League following a 1-0 victory over Kakamega Homeboyz in a match staged at Kasarani.
Michael 'Wise' Owino scored the only goal for Wazito to help his side secure the three points.
Homeboyz had an attack on the right flank as Shami Mwinyi was put through on goal but he was brought down by Johnston Omurwa outside the box. The visitors had two players to take it but Allan Wanga was the man to deliver it, and his shot was deflected for a corner that yielded nothing.
Wazito had a nice build with Musa Masika involved in the build-up, the player was put through and made no mistake, beating Oputi Godfrey from the near post. However, the goal didn't count as Masika was already in an offside position before he received the ball.
Just before half time, Wazito took the lead through unpopular goal scorer Michael Owino. The big spenders had a neat play, patience with build-up and Kimani tried to bring in a cross with Eshihanda Brian penalized for handball. Kevin Kimani stepped up to take the free-kick, it was well delivered and keeper Oputi parred the ball but it fell near Owino who tapped home from close range.
Three minutes to stoppage time, Wazito keeper Odhiambo caused panic to his side as his mistake almost gave Homeboyz an equalizer. Mudavadi had a shot on goal with Odhiambo failing to gather and almost gifted Okoth a chance to snatch the ball but he composed himself to reclaim it.
The victory sees Kimanzi's men still at third on the log with 20 points while Homeboyz are 13th with eight.
Kakamega will now put their focus in their next match against Nairobi City Stars while Wazito will face Tusker FC.
