AFC Leopards registered their third consecutive win in the FKF Premier League following a 2-1 win over Posta Rangers on Saturday evening.
Elvis Rupia scored the opener for Leopards before Shaka doubled the lead for the hosts. Calvin Odongo reduced the deficit for Rangers a goal that turned out to be a consolation.
Leopards had a good start to the game, pushing the Rangers into their own half. They could have taken the lead 27th minute after the Rangers lost the ball from a throw-in and it was quickly taken by Thiong'o who played a lovely pass to Austin Omondi. The Leopards ace took a quick shot that went above the bar.
Minutes later, the ball was delivered inside the penalty area with the Rangers backline failing to clear it that saw it fell near Elvis Rupia. The Leopards striker controlled the ball before unleashing a left-footed shot and to the back of the net.
In the 35th minute, Thiong'o had the ball on the flanks, delivered a searching pass with Rupia rising high before he headed the ball straight to the keeper. The Rangers' shot stopped parred the ball that fell near Shaka to tap home for the second goal of the game.
Calvin Odongo pulled one from the outside the box and it was a beauty. Rangers were patient with the build, spreading passes as Leopards' defence was trying to organize at the back but Odongo unleashed a shot from outside the box, beating Ochan who never stood a chance of stopping it.
The win sends Leopards fourth on the log with 18 points while the Rangers are eleventh on the log with 10.
Nairobi City Stars 1-2 Kariobangi Sharks
It took Kariobangi Sharks 13 minutes to take the lead through Julias Masaba after he was put through on goal by Mazembe.
Nairobi City Stars started chasing for a leveler, but Agesa could not convert from three occasions troubling Sharks' defense. After missing a number of chances, Agesa finally had his name on the scoresheet.
Sharks were piling pressure on City Stars and minutes to stoppage time they restored their lead through Eric Kapaito after receiving a lovely pass from Tom Teka.
Sharks are now in fight position with 18 points while City Stars are tenth.
