After failing to replace striker Luis Suarez last summer, Barcelona are now looking to raid Real Sociedad for the services of young Alexander Isak.
Koeman wants a striker to help his side and despite having been linked with big names like Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, the effect Covid has had on the club finances would force them to go for a cheaper option and Isak fits their bill.
ESPN reports that Barca has been keenly following on the Swedish international after bagging 12 league goals this season in 20 games. The player who joined La Real from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, has a release clause of €70m at the Estadio Anoeta, with the same reports suggesting that his club wants to increase the fee in his new deal to wade off potential suitors.
Bundesliga giants Dortmund however has an upper hand in getting the 21-year-old as they have a €30m buy-back option on him.
Barcelona have been tracking the performances of La Real forward Alexander Isak (21) since October 2020. The current sporting directors, led by Ramon Planes, have been combing the market to come up with names for whoever the next president is.
