Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has claimed that on-loan star Gareth Bale is looking better than ever after their 4-0 win over Burnley on Sunday.
Bale has found limited time at Spurs but according to Mourinho in an interview with the Irish Independent, people have been imagining stories about the Welshman with the Portuguese insisting that there was no manager in the world who would not play the player if he was fit.
“Sometimes people write things, and sometimes, some of you like to imagine stories, you need to write stories and sometimes you like to say things that are not really true but there is not one single manager in the world that doesn’t play Gareth Bale if Gareth Bale is in very good condition. There is not one, but now he is better than ever.
“It’s not just about the two goals he scored, it’s fundamentally about his physical performance. Now he’s not flat. Now he has ups and downs in the speed he brings to his actions. I’m just pleased for the team because he helped the team to win and that’s the most important thing. I’m happy for him,” he said.
Having scored in both the games against Wolfsberger and assisted a goal in the defeat to West Ham, Bale continued his strong run on Sunday when he the way against Burnley with a double on Sunday. He scored the opener just in the second minute, the 31-year-old added his second of the game in the second half with an emphatic effort that left Nick Pope with little chance.
