Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has offered hope Edinson Cavani could feature against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
After staying out injured since February, Solskjaer has confirmed that Cavani has rejoined his teammates on the grass for ball training, but will be subjected to further tests ahead of Wednesday night’s team news.
“Edi has trained this morning and hopefully there is no reaction,” Ole told United’s website.
“There are another couple of knocks that we have to look at, from after the [Chelsea] game, and from the season's wear and tear.
“It looks good. Edi has got the desire and hunger and, of course, he wants to join in, even if it’s from the bench. Hopefully he’ll say tomorrow that there’s been no reaction.,” the Norwegian added.
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba and Phil Jones remain the focus of the club’s medical team for at least another week.
