Midfielder Jackson Macharia has been named Tusker FC's best player in the month of February.
Macharia has been an important player for the Kenyan Premier League leaders and in the month stepped up from the bench to score the winner in their clash against Wazito, equalizing from the bench too in their 2-1 win over Nzoia Sugar and bagged a goal in the club’s 4-1 win over Posta Rangers.
Speaking to the club's official portal after getting the award, Macharia said: “I dedicate this award to my mum because she has been very supportive of all my endeavours and has been there for me all through. To me, she’s the best and she is part of my success.
“I really feel grateful to be rewarded by the team but it is not just my effort. It has been a collective team effort and everyone has been working hard from the technical bench to the players. As a team, we are pleased with the performance we have had.
“This is a motivation to keep working hard and make achievements for the team. We need to ensure that the performance remains on top and for me, I will keep giving my best for the team.”
Tusker FC Treasurer Ben Ochieng said of the award; “Macharia has worked hard for the team and despite the fact that he has been coming off the bench, he has proved to be one of the best. As a club, we will continue supporting our players and motivating them to ensure that they have the morale to keep getting positive results.”
