Mathare United coach Salim Ali says his side is ready for the Slum Derby against Kariobangi Sharks on Thursday.
Mathare will host Sharks at Kasarani Stadium in an FKF Premier League match, a game Ali says they're ready for.
"I am well aware of the dynamics behind tomorrow’s game but to us, we see it as just another game which we need to prepare to win," Salim said.
"We are not in a position where we can get motivated by one game only because to us every game now is like a knockout fixture and we need and have to be at our best so as to get out of our current situation."
"Both teams are known for their similarities in their styles of play which has ensured a spectacle for football lovers whenever they lock horns and Salim is expecting nothing less tomorrow despite the two teams’ contrasting forms this season."
"Form counts for nothing in games that are billed as derbies. We have seen it the world over. It’s all about who has prepared to the last detail and who is willing to fight until the final whistle. I know it’s going to be a good game one that the fans will enjoy," he said.
These two sides have met eight times so far with Sharks beating Mathare three times and losing once in the process.
The match will kick off at 3:00 PM EAT.
