Nairobi City Stars will miss the services of Peter Pinchez Opiyo through suspension when they take on league leaders Tusker over the weekend.
City Stars will be up against Tusker on Saturday at Kasarani starting from 3:00 PM EAT. Simba wa Nairobi will be without Opiyo after the midfielder collected his fifth yellow card of the season in the club's recent outing against AFC Leopards.
Opiyo is currently the club's top scorer this season having netted four goals so far.
"That card really disturbed me. I didn’t expect to get one but hey, that’s the nature of the game. You have to be prepared to miss some matches," said Opiyo as quoted by the club's official website.
For head coach Sanjin Alagic, his absence is a big blow but there is no choice but to dive into the brewers game without his lynchpin.
"Absence of Pinchez in the match against Tusker, the leading team in table, it’s big blow for us, because he’s such a important player in our team. When you play against the best teams in league definitely you need all your best players in the squad," he explained.
"But I don’t want to whine about that, we will try to prepare ourselves in best the possible way and get ready in the match to achieve a positive result," he added.
Stars are currently ninth on the log with 19 points after 15 matches while Tusker are at the top having secured 35.
