Mathare United suffered yet again another defeat in the FKF Premier League after suffering a 2-0 loss to Posta Rangers on Friday evening.
Posta Rangers had a bright start to the game and took the lead early in the sixth minute. The hosts attacked on the right-wing of the pitch, a shot was released with David Okello handling it poorly and tried to take it off the line. Just before Mathare's defence could react to clear the ball, Alex Luganji was in the right position and backheeled the ball and it kissed the back of the net.
Rangers were on the attack once again with Dwang putting Nambute through with a brilliant pass whose header went narrowly off target.
Mathare went close to grabbing the leveler but Osok was in the right place to clear the ball off the line. Jumaan's had the ball in the ball, with the goalkeeper completely off the line but his effort was cleared by Osok.
Minutes after the Slum Boys missed the opportunity to get level, they were punished by Rangers and it was now a mountain to climb. Amos Kigadi, who had just been brought in netted the second, with the ball going past the goal line.
The victory leaves the Rangers 14th on the log with 17 points after 16 matches.
Mathare will be up against KCB while Posta Rangers will play hosts to AFC Leopards.
