English Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool will battle it out for RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer.
The duo is looking to boost their midfield with Liverpool looking for a replacement for Gini Winjaldum with United still unsure about the future of Paul Pogba.
German outlet Bild via Daily Mail the Premier League rivals together with Tottenham Hotspur wants the player who joined the German side in 2014 and has recently been one of the most important players for manager Julian Nagelsmann.
“That (contract expiry in 2022) doesn’t mean that everything has to be decided at that moment. Those in my inner circle know what I’m thinking. But I’m not stressed about it. I feel good in Leipzig and at the club,” the midfielder said earlier.
The player has 7 assists and 6 goals in 31 games for Leipzig so far this season and the £36million price tag that Leipzig has set does not seem like a very big ask for Premier League clubs considering his talent.
The 27-year-old wages are expected to double when he moves to England and it remains to be seen if he will make a move in the summer.
