Tottenham Hotspur’s Juan Foyth believes Jose Mourinho has a distorted character image in the media.
While Mourinho has created a controversial character in press conferences and TV interviews with unpopular reviews of his players and digs at other clubs and managers, one of his players, Foyth, says the Portuguese is a different man off camera.
"The truth is that when you see him at the press conferences, he tells you (what he thinks) himself," the Argentine told Sport.
"I think in the Tottenham (Amazon Prime) documentary he said it, that everyone thinks that he is a bad person, that he always wants to fight.
"But no, the truth is that, with the group, he is very close to the group.
"He talks a lot with all the players. It was a surprise to me when he arrived.
"Because, of course, we would all watch the press conferences and say 'uh, not this'. But the truth is that he is a very good person,” 23-year-old concluded central defender who is on loan at Valencia.
Up next for the Lillywhites is the visit of Mourinho’s former side Manchester United, for a Premier League battle this weekend.
