Luka Modric would welcome Mbappe at Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has hailed Paris Saint-Germain winger Kylian Mbappe saying 'great players are always welcome at Santiago Bernabeu.'

Mbappe has been in fine form for PSG this season and has helped the club reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. Due to his performance, Mbappe has been linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 club with the likes of Barcelona and Madrid monitoring his situation.

PSG sporting director has however repeatedly dismissed claims linking him with an exit claiming the French club is keen to down down his future.

"You hear a lot of stories about the players who'll be coming in and who'll be leaving, but I can't go into that,” Modric said.

"Mbappe is a great player and he's proved that with his national team and PSG. Great players are always welcome at Real Madrid, but it wouldn't be right of me to speak about players at other clubs, particularly at this stage of the season."

"We'll have to see what happens next season, but he's a top player and is amongst the best in the world."

The 22-year-old's contract with PSG is set to expire in the summer of 2022.
