Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund is confident of keeping striker Erling Haaland this summer.
The Norwegian is a subject of speculations with a chunk of teams in Europe having already shown interest in the player but according to the club’s Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl as quoted by Dario Sports, their stance has not changed.
“I understand Erling Haaland will play for Borussia Dortmund next season. Erling totally agrees. I see him every day and I can say he completely identifies with the club,” Kehl said.
The sentiments come just weeks after the player’s agent Mino Raiola suggested that the German side would struggle to reject a world-record offer from one of the Spanish superpowers.
Despite having a contract at Signal Iduna Park until 2024, Haaland is attracting offers from teams in the Premier League with Laliga pair of Barcelona and Real Madrid said to be the favorites to land the player.
Dortmund are likely to demand a fee in the region of €180m for the 20-year-old if they change their position over a sale.
🗣️ Mino Raiola: "Haaland to Madrid depends on Mbappe? The future of a footballer never depends on other footballers, it depends on himself. In the big clubs, you can have great players together: Neymar & Messi have been together, Haaland could be alongside Kylian."
