The South African Football Association (SAFA) have apppointed former Cameroon coach, Hugo Broos, as Bafana Bafana's new head coach.
The FA confimed the decision at a live press conference in Johannesburg on Wednesday, less than two months after firing Molefi Ntseki for failing to qualify for the 2022 AFCON tournament in Cameroon.
The Belgian, who's last employment was caretaker coach at Belgium's Oostende in 2019, returns to Africa since making Cameroon the 2017 AFCON champions.
The 69-year-old's career journey otherwise features club football in Belgium, Greece, UAE and Algeria.
SAFA settled for Broos as a third choice, after getting rejected by former coaches Carlos Qeuiroz, Pitso Mosimane, and former player Benni McCarthy, due to the association's dysfunction and corporate approach.
Broos is expected to lead Bafana Bafana to 2022 World Cup Qualification, where Ghana, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia form the qualification group.
