Samuel Chukwueze of the Super Eagles and Villarreal is fighting to be ready in time for their Europa League final against Manchester United.
After edging Premier League side Arsenal in the last four, Unai Emery guided the Yellow Submarine to their first major final.
Chukwueze, a Nigerian international, was forced off in the first half of their second leg at the Emirates Stadium due to injury, and he could now miss the final in Gdansk on May 26.
According to Diario AS, the club has issued an official statement confirming a hamstring tear, implying that he will not be available to face Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
Emery will give the 21-year-old every opportunity to prove his fitness, but early reports suggest a one-month layoff.
Emery is still without Tottenham loanee Juan Foyth, but the Argentinian defender is ahead of Chukweuze in his recovery from injury.
