Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham in a Premier League game staged at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
Fans finally attended the Old Trafford clash but the display wasn't the way Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have wanted his side to shape up for that Europa League showdown in front of returning supporters.
United had a good start to the game controlling possession in the opening minutes of the game. Fifteen minutes of play, there was a penalty shout from the home team after Cavani appeared to be brought down by Ream. After a quick VAR check, the decision was overturned.
De Gea punted the ball forward into the midfield, Fernandes looked to flick the ball for on-running Cavani behind a high Fulham line. Cavani spotted Areola off his line from 40 yards and he lifted a brilliant effort over the Fulham goalkeeper.
Reid had the ball on the right-wing before delivering a cross to Bryan who headed home past De Gea. There was a VAR check to confirm if Reid was in an offside position. The check was complete and the goal stood.
United's last clash of the Premier League this season will be away to the Wolves over the weekend before taking on Villarreal in the finals of the Europa League next season.
