Brighton 3-2 Man City: The Seagulls stage comeback to stun champions for the first time in over decade

Brighton came from two goals down to register a  3-2 victory over champions Manchester City on Tuesday evening.

The victory marked the first time in over a decade for Brighton to beat Manchester City in the top-flight.

It took City just two minutes to take the lead and Gundogan was the man to see the back of the net. Mahrez twisted and turned past Burn and delivered a fine cross towards the back post, Gundogan and Torres were both charging in. Both were unmarked but it was Gundogan who headed in from close range.

Cancelo was sent off after he brought down Danny Welbeck who had been put through by Mac Allister, the referee had no options and the City defender was off.

In the second half, City added the second through Phil Foden and it was a beautiful goal. Foden picked the ball up in his own half and raced past White on the outside. The England international had no backup and continued to run, dribbling past Webster before unleashing a wonderful finish into the far corner.

Two minutes later, Brighton pulled one back through Trossard who raced through on goal before beating Ederson from close range.

Leveller

There was a ball into the box that is long and looping, but Webster rose highest and planted an excellent header to give Brighton a deserved equalizer.

Turn around

Another Brighton defender turns attacker, Burn won't be denied, his first effort was saved by Ederson but the ball comes back to him about ten yards out and he fires into the roof of the net.

The loss means Brighton have ended City's Engish record run of 12-league away wins in a row.
