Aston Villa coach Dean Smith is delighted after his side completed the signing of Norwich City midfielder Emiliano Buendia.
Norwich confirmed the sale of Buendia to Aston Villa on a record fee earlier this week. The midfielder was strongly linked with a move to Arsenal but the deal failed to materialize.
Confirming the news, Norwich noted: "Norwich City can confirm that a club-record deal has been agreed with Aston Villa for the transfer of Emi Buendia."
Smith has been speaking about his new player and is delighted to add another attacking player to his side.
"Emiliano is equally capable as a wide attacker or as a No 10 and is a great addition to our attacking options," he told the Villa website.
"We are delighted to have made such an exciting signing so early in the summer and look forward to Emi joining up with us for a full pre-season.”
Norwich have made a bumper profit on the Argentina playmaker, who was signed from the Spanish club Getafe for around £1.6m in 2018.
Buendia made a total of 121 appearances in all competitions, scoring 24 goals, across three seasons at Carrow Road.
