Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is interested in ditching the club for Laliga giants Barcelona.
Reports from Sport indicate that Laporte is encouraged by the interest from Barca and is pressing the English club to let him go even though he knows his market value is too high for Barcelona to pay, so he has to make an effort to make a move happen.
A swap deal with less money has been muted as a possibility with the Frenchman, who recently changed his nationality to Spain, not keen on sitting at the bench.
Laporte is not Pep Guardiola’s first-choice center back with the Spaniard preferring Reuben Diaz and John Stone; the latter’s form meaning that Laporte has always been seen as an extra player.
