Argentina registered their first win of Copa America after beating Uruguay 1-0 in their second game of Group A.
After a goalless draw against Chile in the opening match of the group, Argentina put a solid performance and defeated Uruguay. Argentine opened the scoring in the 13th minute from a short corner as Lionel Messi took on Lucas Torreira before finding some space. The Barcelona caption then put in a perfect cross to find Guido Rodriguez who headed it home off the post.
They now need just three points from two games to guarantee a spot in the next round, and finishing the top two in the group would be crucial to avoid Brazil and/or Colombia in the Final Eight.
Paraguay is next on Monday, and a victory in that game could give Scaloni a chance to rest Messi, who looked exhausted in the final minutes, in the last game against Bolivia.

Chile 1-0 Bolivia
At Arena Pantanal, Chile also picked their first win following a 1-0 victory against Bolivia on Saturday morning. Ben Brereton scored the only goal in the 10th minute, in his full debut to separate the two teams after 90 minutes.
Bolivia were without five players who tested positive for Covid-19, including top goalscorer Marcelo Martins and fell to their second straight loss after an opening 3-1 defeat to Paraguay.
