Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have both enquired about the possibilities of signing Bayern Munich's Leon Goretzka.
The player is currently in Euros with Germany but according to Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg, the player is considering his options at the Allianz Area as he delays signing a new deal with the Bundesliga giants.
The player has 12 months remaining in his current deal and is yet to commit to a new deal due to salary concerns but Bayern is optimistic that they can make the breakthrough.
The Germany international had a solid 2020/21 season for the Bavarian giants, registering eight goals and nine assists from 32 games.
Should the player fail to ink a new deal, Bayern will be willing to offload him this summer instead of losing him for free just as they did with Thiago Alcantara to Liverpool last summer.
The club on the other hand isn't always afraid of losing players for free as they proved with David Alaba and Jerome Boateng, who were under similar contract situations but with Goretzka things might be different as they consider him an important part of the team.
Goretzka is valued at £63 million, but he could be available for a knockdown price if the contract stand-off continues.
The player is considered a long-term replacement for Luka Modric by Madrid with Barcelona seeing him as someone who can fill Sergi Busquet's boots.
