Europa League Roundup: Napoli, Betis fight back as West Ham cruise in Croatia

The 2021/22 Europa League season kicked off in earnest on Thursday night with a total of 15 games played across Europe. 

It was a night that many of the top teams struggled, with Real Betis and Napoli both recovering from two goals down to claim valuable points. 

The Italians trailed Leicester 2-0 going into the last 25 minutes thanks to Ayoze Perez and Harvey Barnes' goals, but Victor Osimhen scored a stunning double to see the match end all square. 

In Spain, Real Betis rallied from two goals down to stun Celtic 3-2 and hand coach Manuel Pellegrini a deserving birthday gift on his 68th birthday. 

Elsewhere, there were winning starts for Galatasaray, West Ham and Lyon.
