Solskjaer unhappy with referees decision following EFL Cup elimination

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has questioned the referee's decisions following his side's elimination from the EFL Cup at the hands of West Ham United.

The Norwegian feels his side deserved a penalty against the David Moyes side after Mark Noble appeared to have brought down Jesse Lingard in the box after the visitors had taken a ninth-minute lead.

"It's a clear penalty for Jesse again, Mark Noble falls and pulls him down. You can't dwell too much on that. I've never actually won this tournament, that hunt will have to keep going because it's a trophy I'd like to have.

"But we have to make decisions to get the squad up to speed for the rest of the season, sometimes you have to make changes, take risks and we did," Solskjaer said.

United will hope to pick themselves up as fast as possible as they have another tricky test against Aston Villa coming up on Saturday with the English giants currently joint top of the Premier league together with Chelsea and Liverpool.
