Arsenal's recent resurgence continued on Sunday evening as they beat city rivals Tottenham 3-1 to claim north London derby bragging rights.
A near-perfect first-half performance saw the Gunners take a 3-0 lead, thanks to goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Bukayo Saka.
The win, their third in a row, is a welcome relief especially considering their worrying start to the new campaign when they lost three matches on the bounce.
Speaking after the match, coach Mikel Arteta thanked the club's fans for sticking with them during the rough patch, further dedicating the win to them.
"This win is for them (the fans). They were with us through tough moments, so this is for them. So pleased to win the game. The determination, conviction, and connection with our fans was what I enjoyed most.
"It was tough to leave some players out, but we need everyone. The exact mix was needed, senior players stepping in and the youth and enthusiasm of our young players."
Aubameyang, who has also been under a lot of criticism from various quarters, heaped praise on Emile Smith and Saka, following their impressive performances.
"Arsenal can be proud of these boys, they are great guys who work hard and are doing very well. Boys like this always listen, always ready to learn. I try and give advice sometimes, but the most important thing is that they feel free when they play. This is why they are doing so well"
Arsenal will next take on Brighton away in the Premier League.
