Harry Maguire provides positive update on his injury

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has provided a positive injury update ahead of the club's test with Leicester City this weekend.

Maguire sustained a calf injury in the club's defeat to Aston Villa in September which caused him to miss the recent international break with England and while he has not trained with the team, the defender feels he is getting close to full fitness.

“Yeah, it’s getting there. I still haven’t trained yet with the squad, but I am getting better, I am progressing as I should be. It is obviously a frustrating injury for me to get, but I am progressing and I will be back on the pitch soon,” Maguire told the club's official website.

Maguire has been virtually ever-present for the Reds since joining them from Leicester and has gone to make 114 appearances for the club thus far.

It is not clear whether he will be available to face his former side but with Raphael Varane also ruled out after picking an injury on international duty, United might be forced to parade a new-look defence for the tie at King Power.

Victor Lindelof has been partnering Varane in the absence of Maguire and it might be another chance for Eric Bailly to show his worth in defence.
