Spanish giants Barcelona have had a difficult start to the current season with the club also having financial difficulties.
The Catalans lost one of their most important and greatest players, Lionel Messi, who left for Paris Saint Germain in the summer. Barca recruited new players on free transfers while loaning out the likes of Miralem Pjanic and Antionne Grizzeman who returned to Atletico Madrid.
We take a look at Barcelona's summer signings and how they've fared so far;
Aguero opted against signing a contract extension at Manchester City as he moved to Barcelona on a free transfer. The Argentine was excited to link up with his best mate Lionel Messi but who ended up moving to PSG.
The 33-year-old has struggled at Nou Camp with fitness issues limiting his playing time. It got worse for the former City man after he collapsed during a match from cardiac arrhythmia.
According to reports, Aguero might be forced to retire early due to medical reasons.
Royal signed for Barcelona in the summer and moved in the same transfer window to Tottenham Hotspur. When Emerson moved to Real Betis from Miniero, Barcelona part signed him as well and had a clause in the contract that allowed them to buy him outright come summer 2021.
The clause was activated and ended up moving to Spurs having only made three appearances for the Blaguaranas.
Luuk de Jong
De Jong joined Barcelona from Sevilla on loan to provide an attacking option under Ronald Koeman. The player has made nine appearances so far, scoring once while providing a single assist against Levante.
Barcelona's financial situation saw Demir join on loan from Austria Wien with an optional future fee arranged.
The youngster has featured once in the league and Europe and has shown Barca fans his promising talent. New boss Xavi hinted frequently involving him this season and giving reasons why he started him against Benfica in the Champions League.
"Demir has trained very well and can generate chances and lead with the ball," said Xavi.
This was a big player making a big move. Barcelona secured the services of Depay from Lyon and hasn't so far disappointed netting seven goals this season.
Garcia joined Barca from City when his contract expired and signed a five-year deal. The youngster had long planned to return to the Nou Camp.
At City, he made 13 appearances, a number he is already close to surpassing at Nou Camp.
