Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa has reached an agreement with Atletico Mineiro to terminate his contract and part ways with immediate effect.
Costa signed for Mineiro in August last year and has played a key role in their title success, only the second in their history. The Brazilian netted five goals in 19 games for the club having joined from Atletico Madrid but is now without employment once again.
The former Chelsea man got his contract terminated by Atletico in December 2020 and became a free agent before he signed for the Brazilian outfit eight months later.
The Brazilian had rejoined Atleti from Chelsea on a permanent three-and-a-half-year contract in January 2018 but left Diego Simeone’s side six months before the end of the agreement.
