Barcelona president Laporta rules out signing Erling Haaland

Barcelona will not sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in the summer according to the club's president Joan Laporta.

Haaland has been linked with Dortmund's exit with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid termed as possible destinations for the Norwegian. The 21-year-old's contract with the Bundesliga side is set to expire in the summer of 2024 and is yet to extend his stay at Signal Iduna Park.

His current contract includes a €75m release clause and is set to become active in June, with clubs in England, Spain and Germany tracking him.

As quoted by Diario, Laporta said, "We are not going to incorporate any player who alters the salary system."

"I don't want Barcelona to be at risk at any moment, I always put the club above all. We're not gonna complete any signing who can break our salary system. That's our strategy for present and future".

According to reports, Haaland's current exit clause is set to rise beyond €100m.
