Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard has confirmed Ollie Watkins might have a 'small injury' issue ahead of the final Premier League games of the season.
Watkins was brought off in the 81st minute as Villa suffered a 2-1 loss to Liverpool on Tuesday night. Villa had a brilliant start and were ahead courtesy of Douglas Luiz but Liverpool staged a comeback to claim maximum points thanks to Joel Matip and Sadio Mane's goals.
"There might be a small injury to Ollie and we will have to analyse that," said Gerrard.
"In terms of commitment and heart and application from what the lads gave me tonight I cannot ask for anymore. At times we showed amazing quality as well, really happy with what we created against one of the best teams out there. Obviously, I am really disappointed with the two goals we conceded.
"We will look into that, against the top sides in this League we have been done on moments. So we need to cut them out moving forward.
"In terms of what we have brought to the game, out of possession and in possession and in terms of the game plan the boys and what they have given me I cannot ask for any more. Of course there is a gap to those top teams at the moment but we have to strive and keep moving forward to try and close that gap because we are competing against some of the best players and teams in the world."
The Villains have two matches remaining this season against Crystal Palace and Burnley, both at home.
