Xavi admits signing Lewandowski will be difficult

FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandes has admitted that signing Bayern Munich hitman Robert Lewandowski will be a difficult task.

The Polish striker has been linked with a move to Barca but reports are emerging that Bayern is not willing to sell with Barca still contemplating whether to sign the player owing to their financial situation.

Lewandowski has admitted that he won't be signing a new deal with the Bundesliga giants as he wants a new challenge and while Xavi confirmed that they were in talks, getting the player hasn't been an easy affair.

Speaking at his prematch conference, Xavi said of the deal: "Lewandowski is one of the options, one of the possibilities. There are negotiations, he has one year on his contract left. It won't be easy.

"[Barcelona president Joan] Laporta told me we'll be able to reinforce the team, there's confidence."

Xavi wants a new man to lead their goal hunt as they are set to lose some of their strikers in the summer.
