Paul Aigbogun, head coach of the Flying Eagles has stressed the importance of playing against good teams in order to test run the players ahead of important competitions.

In an interview with Football Live, Aigbogun said that it is great to win but that is not at the top of their list of important things as their main focus is playing together as a team.

“It nice to win, but that is not of core importance to us right now,  the most important thing is for us to play against a good team, to try and test run the team," he said.

“This is the first time a lot them are playing together, some of the new and the old players we got from the WAFU Cup, so it’s good to see them play together and also to get match practice”.

The U20 head coach also added that he wants to get his side to a defined level where they can be a great challenge to their opponents and that requires putting in the work.

“In regards to the team getting to that defined level, I will say it’s early yet, but I think we saw some good signs, and also some other things we need to work on too as well."
