UPL: Mbarara City travel to Maroons for maximum points

Uganda Premier League side Mbarara City Football Club will visit Maroons on Tuesday, February 5 at Prisons stadium in Luzira.

Mbarara City are currently third on the Premier League log with 19 points from 16b matches played so far.

Charles Livingstone Mbabazi’s coached side will target maximum points or avoid defeat if they are to keep pace with the top-tier sides – KCCA and Vipers.

Maroons, under their newly appointed coach Robert Ssekyeyama play their first game of the second round at home.

The first game with Ssekyeyama in charge was a 1-0 loss away to BUL at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.

The former KCCA player replaced George ‘Best’ Nsimbe who decided to cut his losses with the club.

It will, therefore, be a battle for maximum points for the Prisons’ funded team in the midst of home fans.

Paul Mucureezi, Ivan Eyam and Ibrahim Orit are the current star players on the Mbarara City side who are expected to hand a debut to January signing, midfielder Ivan Mbowa.

Maroons will look to have Pius Obuya, Herman Wasswa, Felix OkelSylvesterster Okello, Dan Wagaluka, Solomon Walusimbi, Brian Majwega and others to their side.

Maroons are currently 12th with 15 points from 16 matches.

Kickoff is set for 16H30 PM.
