Former Nigerian player & FA official Ogunjobi dies

Ex-Nigeria international Taiwo Ogunjobi has died from what is described as just a short illness.

Ogunjobi, who age is unconfirmed, was announced to have passed away by the Nigeria Football Federation today.

Ogunjobi , who's biggest role in Nigerian football was  Secretary-General between 2002 and 2005, while also providing his servies in the Executive Committee between 2006 and 2011.

The former Shinning Stars player died in the South-West city of Ibadan.

“We are sad to announce the shock demise of former Nigeria Int'l, Ex-NFF Gen. Sec., former NFF Executive Committee member, and current chairman, Osun State FA, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi after a brief illness. Our prayers are with his family, relatives and the football family in Nigeria,” said the NFF’s statement today.
