Asante Kotoko midfielder out for six months

Asante Kotoko has reportedly been dealt with a major with Maxwell Baako set to be out for six months with a shin injury.

Baako's season looks all but over after aggravating his injury during the team's final training session on Friday, March 1 according to reports by Football Made in Ghana. 

Kotoko's head coach Charles Akunnor confirmed the news that the player had been playing with the injury for some time but aggravated it further during their preparations ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Nkana FC.

“Maxwell Baako is injured and he will be out for some time. He has been playing with the injury for some time now. But he aggravated it during our final session," he said. 

“He will be out for about 12 weeks to 6 months. Depending on whether he will undergo a surgery.l or not. We will have to wait and see,” he said at the post-match press conference.

Maxwell Baakoh has scored two goals for Asante Kotoko in the Confederations Cup so far.
