Dalian Yifang striker, Emmanuel Boateng has spoken about the advice he was given by Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan before making his move to the Chinese Super League.
The Kayerispor forward, a former player of Shanghai SIPG experienced the Super League himself where he spent one season after joining the club from Al Ain.
The 25-year-old’s move to China garnered worldwide speculation after the player was reportedly having a good run in the La Liga with Levante in February.
However, Boateng reveals he kept contact with his Ghanaian compatriot before making his move to China.
“Indeed, for me, Gyan is like my brother. He often gives me very good advice. Before I came here, I had a phone conversation with him."
“He told me that if you feel good, then go. Go to the Chinese Super League to prove yourself. Gian told me that choosing a Super League would not be wrong.”
Dalian Yifang signed the Ghanaian international for a fee believed to be in the region of 11million euros.
