Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has suggested that the 2018/19 Absa Premiership champions will be decided on the last day as the title race gets tougher by each game.
Mosimane shared these sentiments after Sundowns managed a 2-1 victory over relegation candidates Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium on Tuesday night (March 12).
Pitso went further and said that being at the top of the log doesn't bring him much excitement as it can be anyone's game and take over them.
"The top of the log thing will play with your emotions, it will stress players. You're only there for a few days, it's a very tough league, I prefer not to lead and come out at the right time," he said.
"Hence I give credit to Bidvest Wits for being on top for 20 games if I'm not mistaken [Wits have been top for 18 rounds in total]. Orlando Pirates too had a chance to be there at one stage but gave it away to Wits again."
Mosimane who has experienced much success in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and as a holder of the CAF Champions League trophy, was asked by the media for his thoughts as the league has seven remaining games to be played.
"In my opinion, it will go down to the wire, for us [and Orlando Pirates] in the CAF Champions League we might have a challenge. I've said it before, teams that have more opportunities are Bidvest Wits and Cape Town City, also don't write off SuperSport United, they can win it," he told.
