Victory is sweet and even a cure to illness. This is why Nigerian midfielder Uche Agbo is feeling pain no more after his Rayo Vallecano side beat Real Madrid 1-0 in the La Liga on Sunday night.
The 23-year-old recently lost his mother and his Rayo Vallecano debut was delayed for several weeks after he was hospitalised.
He returned against Real Madrid on Sunday in a spectacular form, but bagged a yellow card in the 90th minute.
“I am just happy to be back playing football again especially after the difficult period I passed through - I lost my mother and around that time I fell ill,” he told Scorenigeria.
“It was gloomy time for me at that point, but i give God the glory because it is now a thing of the past.”
“I'm really pleased with the outcome of the match that we won against one of the best teams in the world,” he said.
Uche is on loan from Belgian club Standard Liège which he joined in 2017.
