Rodgers Aloro scored with what was virtually the last kick of the game as Tusker FC came from two goals down to hold Sofapaka FC to a 2-2 draw in a Kenyan Premier League clash staged at the Kenyatta Stadium-Machakos on Sunday 5 May.
Sofapaka domination in the first half was exhibited with their goals with striker Umaru Kasumba giving them the lead as early as the third minute after heading past Rwandese goalkeeper Emery Mvuyekure.
Tusker mostly depended on young striker David Majak with the young South Sudanese striker header in the 22nd minute following a Boniface Muchiri cross missing the target by a whisker.
Kenya U23 striker John Avire was to miss a glorious opportunity to double his sides lead a minute to the half-hour mark after hitting the ball off the mark with only the keeper to beat; this coming after Kasumba had headed the ball into his path.
Avire was to force Emery to another good save minutes to the break but Tusker was to prevent a bigger goal margin heading into the break with the Kasumba goal being the difference.
On resumption, even before Tusker could restructure, the home side was to double their lead through Brian Magonya; the midfielder nodding past Emery after a fine corner delivery by Ellie Asieche.
Despite Sofapaka headed for another win, Tusker was not going to give up easily and pulled a goal back six minutes from time through Boniface Muchiri who tapped in a Sammy Meja cut back with Rodgers Aloro ensuring a share of spoils with a goal in stoppage time.
