Emmanuel Frimpong tears into Xhaka after costly mistake against Brighton

06 May 2019, 21:00

Former Arsenal midfileder Emmanuel Frimpong has blasted midfileder  Granit Xhaka, after he conceded a penalty in the team's 1-1 home draw against Brighton.

Frimpong, who has since stopped professional football due to injuries feels the team is hurting due to some players, whom he feels should be let go.

Xhaka's mistake led to the equalising goal for the visitors, a result that technically saw Arsenal miss the chance to play in the Champions League next season.

The Gunners are currently placed fifth on 67 points, three behind Tottenham Hotspur, and four behind Chelsea.

For Arsenal to qualify, they'll need to win their last match with a huge number of goals, and hope that Spurs lose.

Xhaka was heavily attacked and criticised by Arsenal fans on social media, with many calling for him to be axed from the team.
