Nigerian midfielder Usman Mohammed is pretty much excited to join Tombov, who just gained promotion to the Russian Premier League.

The Rio 2016 Olympics star said the move marks a new beginnng for his career.

“I am excited I will be playing in the Russian top flight next season with a club whose ambitions matches mine. This is a new beginning with me.” Mohammed said.

He will team up with Nigeria U23 winger Blessing Olabiran. The midfielder has helped Armenian club Pyunik to be crowned champions with three matches left to be played.

Mohammed, 25, has scored twice in 10 matches. He has previously played in Portugal, Spain and Norway.

The defensive midfielder has featured for Nigeria at the 2015 AFCON U23, CHAN 2016 and the 2016 Rio Olympics, where the country clinched a bronze medal.
