Retired South African superstar Teko Modise has named the coach, club, and performance of his career.

As reported on Futaa last week, the 36-year-old called time on his career before playing his final game for Cape Town City against Black Leopards in Thohoyandou last weekend.

The man known as ‘The Navigator’ has now looked back to reveal the most special influences and dates of his career.

“My best season was my last season at (Pietersburg Pillars) before I got signed by any other team and won the Footballer Of The Season I think that was my best, best season,” Modise told Soccer Laduma.

“My best game… (Cameroon in Rustenburg), the national team, I even forgot about that, Benni was playing,” Modise added.

The Soweto-born player, who’s club catalogue includes SuperSport United, Orlando Pirates, and Mamelodi Sundowns, mentioned the coach that changed his outlook.

“Carlos Parreira, he changed how I looked at football, for me football was just fun and games until I went to the national team and he had a one on one with me and until today I still remember exactly what he said, so he changed everything about me,” concluded Modise.
