Gor Mahia will be handed the 2018/19 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title on Saturday 25 May the league body as confirmed.
The coronation will be after the Hassan Oktay coached side clash with Posta Rangers in week 33 of league action; this coming after the team confirmed their championship in their 1-1 draw against Vihiga United on Wednesday.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, KPL noted: “Gor Mahia will be presented with the SportPesa Premier League trophy and medals following their SPL 2018-19 Round 33 against Posta Rangers on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
“The match will kick off at 4:15 PM and will be broadcast live on KTN News and the Kenyan Premier League Facebook page.”
Three in a Row
This is Gor’s league third league title in a row with coach Hassan Oktay in an earlier interview saying they had already started plans for next season which will be a shorter one as the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) fights to align the league schedule with that of CAF.
Gor will be taking on Mathare United-one of the team that had been considered as title favourite in the first leg-in their final game.
