Uruguay national team head coach Oscar Tabarez is confident Luis Suarez will be fit in time for the Copa America this summer.
The Barcelona striker underwent minor knee surgery at the start of May, which forced him to miss three games of the 2018-19 season, including the Copa del Rey final against Valencia CF later today.
However, Tabarez is confident the 32-year-old will make a return at the Copa America.
"I think he will be fit in time," he told football-espana.
"He is working well and we are hopeful.
"I cannot give details at this time, but he and the FC Barcelona medical staff are keeping us updated.
"But Luis is very professional and I know the type of effort he gives in these situations."
Uruguay have been paired with defending champions Chile, Ecuador and Japan.
