News coming out of Naturena is that Kaizer Chiefs have called in Leonardo Castro to discuss the player’s future.
Sources close to Soccer Laduma have told the publication that Chiefs will have a sit-down with the player to decide his future.
“Now though, on the back of a terrible 2018/19 season for Chiefs’ players, Siya sources have explained that they have called their second-highest goalscorer this season in for a meeting next week to talk about whether he has a future at Naturena or not,” wrote Soccer Laduma.
The report further added that Castro has not actually done himself any injustice as a Chiefs player, but maybe coach Ernst Middendorp is not 100% convinced.
“The 30-year-old Colombian has directly contributed to 29 goals – 16 goals, 13 assists – in 71 games since he first signed for Masandawana, and is not too far away from having scored more goals in Amakhosi colours than he did for the Brazilians.
“Despite that, though, it is thought that Ernst Middendorp is not sold on whether the striker is part of his plans for 2019/20 – if indeed he does stay – and a final decision on his future at Naturena is now expected to be made after his meeting with the club next week,” concluded the story.
