Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has offered more reasons why Teko Modise is a special breed.
Modise’s retirement early this month proved a big sensation in Mzansi, and it was all purely because of the special footballer he was.
"What a fantastic player he was, a maestro. They used to call him 'Navigator',” Pitso gushed to Kick Off.
“What a player! I don't think I have had a player like him. A brilliant player.
Mosimane revealed that is not feeling any resentment the pair’s past issues of never seeing eye to eye during the days at Sundowns.
"He loves football, that boy loves football. You can say whatever about him, Teko loves football. He doesn't miss training. I don't have any personal issues about what he wrote in his book, whatever, I am beyond that. I am a bigger guy, I must give him respect. He has done exceptionally well.

"He came to Sundowns, I kept him as captain, I gave him jersey number 10. I gave him respect until he said he wants to go. I didn't chase him. He then went to Cape Town City and served them well also. What an unbelievable player!
The former Bafana Bafana coach also highlighted Modise’s leadership qualities and mental abilities for the future.
"I hope his name stays in football because children look up to him. So he has hung up his boots. I still believe can still play one or two years. He can also be a good coach. His analysis is good. He can be a pundit. The future is bright and he is clever also,” concluded Mosimane.
